:lol: Why would i want i to do it for someone else, you still can't seem to grasp the fact that for most it's personal pleasure? Honestly Rob, you went and left as nobody liked you, deleting all your posts like a spoiled little bratt, and now you're back pretending to be someone else proclaiming to have the bee's knees of an R as it had 520bhp and a quaiffe gearbox... and it cost you 60k, times change mate, get over it;-):thumbsup:

Not sniping at you in particular Bob, just the general ethos of "can't" that seems to have been installed in 90% of owners. How is anyone from outside the community going to respect our cars if all we do is bitch and moan that their not evo's or impreza's.

I fully agree with Russ that its quite insulting when people like him are putting a huge commitment into building an awesome spec car that they get either tarred with the same brush as the internet dreamers or have people judge what he's doing as a waste. I think people need to remember just because they perceive something as a waste of money doen't mean it is to everyone else, after all as George Best put it: "I spent 90% of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted".

This is my 2 pence worth...

Yes people could reach 600bhp.

However and this is a big HOWEVER, to reach and keep using 600bhp you will have to plough in money for R&D.

Anyone can reach 500/600bhp but its the quality of work, development and components you invest (can I use such a word with GTiR's) that will determine whether it will run faultlessly?

Our problems is that some people cut corners to reach high figures so that they can have "pub talk" The problem here lies with the rest of the system that lets them down due to mechanical failures, hence we talk about it breaking all the time. (aka: scaredy cat syndrome)

Some parts we could have done being developed by "tuning" or motorsport companies, but they never invested into this model of car so we make do with what we've got!

Some people, including me can't be arsed in chasing big bhp figures. Some of the reasons people choose not to do this is because its about cost, others its just about having bound by regulations in certain levels of motorsport.

Me, I've just ploughed my time into all the faults, suspension set-up and learning how the car works, so that when I hit the track its works and any possible failure has already been addressed.
That way I can drive it to the track, hammer it round all day then drive home and put it in the garage (how many other members can say they have a 100% record like that over 4 years?) :thumb:

As for the engine I think its very capable to run 600bhp with the right kind of modifications, however why we compare our RNN14 with modern day engines kind of baffles me?
We don't have the R&D from companies to help us like the scoobs or evo knobbers, we don't have Nismo or NME investing today to push the cars forwards, all we have is ourselves.
WE ARE THE EVOLUTION to the RNN14, we are the future for this engine! ;-)

If Nissan said, "right lets re-design the RNN14 engine to modern day spec", it would be full of technology, VVT (or whatever they use nowadays) better cooling, less friction in the engines, modern designed head, fuel efficient systems, modern turbo, Ecutek management systems.
Tuners would have a field day, 400bhp could be achieved like we achieve 300bhp, possible gearboxes would be developed, allsorts of shit would be looked at.

...but since that's not going to happen, we'll struggle on, modern cars will dominate and we will still here talking about 600bhp cars while trying to crack the NME safe for their gearbox designs.

I say go for it, screw it, go for 600bhp, but as most people have said, it'll be hard gruelling work to get there, it will be very expensive and you'll lots of low points or waiting to do if you ask a "tuner" to do it (and have even less money:lol:).
If its done right then you'll be the envy of a lot of people on here and also a hero, but you've pushed the boundaries and reached your goal.

My only issue with this kind of project is that when your looking out of your front window slurping on a cup of tea while a bird shats on the bonnet, look at it really hard, think about the costs involved "was it really worth all that hassle?" :thumb:

600bhp - £20k+ (and that's not including the mistakes and failures along the way)

The trouble with young people in general is that they don't like being told what to do by older people, Most of the people on here that have aired a negative view are just trying to help not put people off or talk down the pulsar, It is a good little car and does what it does very well indeed but with some limitations.

I'm not going to say anymore about what will happen in the end you two seem to of already made your minds up to Chase power and fair play to you, But please don't put me in the category of some 20 year old dreamer, I've already spent the money and done the work, 90% of my car was built by me in my own garage only farming out a couple of the specialist jobs.

It is you that is being disrespectful not I .
