What have you done with your pulsar today?

Nearly used my GTIR at Croft easter Monday british championship sprint. Pleased I didn't as it absolutely tossed it down
all day.
If there any GTIR clubday/trackdays/meets I can get to "just for a laugh" I will try and get there.
Using the 'old dear: H569PBR' at Croft Xmas stage rally reminded me just what a good rally car it is.
Decent acceleration, even with a misfire, awesome brakes, slidable (up to a point....)
let us know

Ordered 1050cc injectors, standalone ecu, wideband, fuel pump, and fitting kit after pulling the pump and finding this (pure sediment approx 3/8" thick)20180416_150857-1.jpg

Yea, I have one too. A right bastard to install that thing.
Didn't find the downpipe too bad to fit. The rear part over the subframe and resonator was a brute though.

Fitted a 255lph Walbro and wired up new dual Proform 10" super thin pusher fans to replace the stocks that no longer fit on account of the new turbo.

So got a few jobs to do on the car and find it difficult to give it down time as its used daily but my boss is off for a week and i have the warehouse to myself so going to try and get a few things sorted.

Done- Rear discs and pads, Rear diff oil, adjusted door hinges and boot lock. Wet and dry vac the interior.

To do - Fuel filler pipe, rocker cover gasket, turbo oil return gasket, OS suspension top mount , tracking.

Fairly busy week

I fired mine up and got it out the garage today for the first time in ages.

I did a trackday at Combe on Monday in my Clio cup which has given me the car bug again, and getting passed by Porsche's and Mclaren's made me wish I was in the Sunny!

New top of the range battery, fired her up, still sounds great, roller bearing turbo always makes me smile as it makes run down noises
after shutdown.
Trackday? Rally?
Jon
It ain't suitable for the road really, that's for sure

Took the drivers side door switch panel out to start troubleshooting the general deadness of the thing. Nothing obvious so probay going to be shopping for a replacement unless I've missed something really stupid.

Attempted to start my rebuild (took a couple of weeks off to do it at my leisure) but then stopped as i found out the pistons i was sent, were for an EVO 4G63. Not amused! Got the right ones in the end, but all this mucking about has cost me a push back of a month. Have everything i need now, so i'll be making a cup of tea and rolling up me sleeves soon.

Picked up the beast from the tuner yesterday, and drove it back 5hrs to home today. Setup is almost strictly track. Like driving a go-cart on the highway, hammers every bump, loud as a banshee, should have wore earplugs on the drive. A pure and utter assault on the senses. An un-tamed animal to contend with. 5hrs of bliss...

Today, assembled engine stand. Lifted block and transfer box onto stand. Reeled in one of my balls. Put in the main bearings, thrust bearings, big end shells, crank, new Pistons and rings, new rod bolts then the crank cradle. Torqued it all up and all turns over nicely (thank god)

Tomorrow, sump assemble and head but, will see how I get on.

Now time for a beer, cheers!

In the photo above of the crank cradle, I have attached the sump baffle. If you look just above it, there are 2 holes. Now as far as I'm aware , from what I can see in the workshop manual, nothing goes there. Plus I don't think I have anything else that'll fit. Am I right?
