best time ws 12.6, which was pretty good for having a fucked head gasket and slipping clutch.

i had to empty the expansion tank 3 times and put an extra 4 ltrs of water in and 1ltr of oil.

so engine is coming out for a rebuild and new clutch, maybe some extra goodies aswell.

dont get 0 - 60 times at york, only about twice a year they do the 0-60. cant remember what 60' times were, will need to check slips. was happy about beating that fq300, he even beat me off the line then i caught and passed him. there was some shit imprezas there aswell, some were running 16s lol

Oh I thought the right hand lane recorded it every time. The starts look good to me so should be decent 60' and a 12.6 sec 1/4 puts you firmly in low 4s to 60.What terminals were you getting, I'd expect around 106-110mph?

107 was average terminal, id expect to be a bit quicker if the head and clutch werent fucked. gbox is standard as far as i know, was in 4th over the line, seemed to run out of 3rd under 100mph. launching at 5k.
going to rebuild engine with decent clutch so hoping to get low 12s hopefully 11s.

head gasket was fucked, kept filling up with coolant, so had to keep emptying that and filling rad, was getting a nice layer of oil on the top too.

Was it boiling and pissing out all over the place as it's designed to fill up hence the name, then when it cools down it sucks it back into the system. If you empty it there's nothing but air to suck back in the system, so you run low on coolant, unless you keep topping it up, which you shouldn't need to do if you don't empty the expansion tank. Oil in the water could be the standard oil cooler leaking as head gaskets normally go the other way round ie water in the oil.

It shouldn't be gettim brim full 3 times within 200 mile though, oil is also seeping out the headgasket where head meets block. Car was giving out a few puffs of smoke on the way down aswell. Comps are around the 120psi mark aswell.

So short of a miracle you won't be there on May 1st then? There's a 0-60 challenge(round 1) no sure how that works as its new to me since I last went.Fastguy has done it though I'm sure.

I won't be there, they just do 0-60 timing in 1 lane, then have another round later on in the year. You get that time instead of your 60ft, don't see why they don't just do that all the time. I won't even be starting to fix mine till I'm moved into my new house next week.

When I last did their 0-60 challenge they got a company in to do it with the euipment. They own their own now that they just plugged in to the right hand lane and it prints instead of the 60ft time.

I just wondered if as its a "0-60 challenge" that it was some sort of league type affair that the pro cars have.Getting frustrated not doing anything with the car so might be tempted on the 1st.

Its looking like I will be there sunday along with a bloke form work in his clio cup and his brother in a focus st.Hopefully it will be red hot and heatsoaking everyone else so I can do consistant times with my water injection and hopefully not blow the box :D.Car eels like it has a low 12sec in it which should give me a high 3 sec 0-60 all going well.
