Given the number of people who've changed their clocks due to a broken speedo you can't really go by the trip meter any more... I'm pretty sure that mine's accurate, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.
Plus, I believe the engine has been rebuilt twice now... I think someone has raced it at some point (or at least bought a bonnet off someone who has, and had it resprayed without removing the stickers), and that's why there's odd damage to the wishbone mounts (and so much mud under the rear bumper... and a diff guard... and an RB box.
I think you're right Bob - the milage is whatever you'd like it to be. Maybe you should offer that as a service on cars you sell; just set the odometer to whatever they'd like it to be!?
