uprated brakes behind oe rims?

As per title do any of you chaps know if i can fit uprated brake calipers/discs behind the original factory rims ?

nope you wount fit any larger under 14s, but a decent set of grooved discs,pads and bradied lines will help alot. and fresh brake fliud.

Cheers pulsarkid. Let's hope that will improve things enough. Others wise I might be forced to go to 15" rims which is not what I want to do as I want to keep the car as original as possible.

I looked into this when I had one, because theres a lot of rally/competion cars that run 13" wheels or less eg. Mk 1 Escorts, Minis etc, and I've seen some slim AP racing calipers for these. I don't know if its true but could increasing the size of the master cylinder help? I saw this mod on Australian Ebay for a pulsar which ran 500bhp, but was totally stock to the untrained eye inc std wheels, but competed ( and won) events against V8 muscle cars and the like.
