No brake lights

Hi all,

My brake lights are not working. I have replaced all of the bulbs, checked the fuse and made sure they are connected properly but still no joy. I asked my friend who I bought the car off and he said that it could be the brake switch above the brake pedal. Has anyone else had the same problem? On my friends R when he presses the brake pedal you can hear the brake switch make a click, but on mine it doesn't.

did you remove the switch while still connected and try pressing and releasing it?

I haven't physically removed it, but when I press the brake pedal it releases the pin as it should. Maybe something inside the switch has gone? Would i be able to test this in any way with a multimeter or anything?

You should be able to check the voltage coming into the switch and the voltage leaving. That would be your best bet.
