If it was 4wd and over 300 BHP I'm sure it would be a lot of fun but you know it wont happen.

They're not talking about a GTiR. It's a standard Pulsar, and it sounds like we'll get a GTi version (or possibly SSS if it's the same as the Australian market). - As above though; with tuning there's no reason you couldn't make it fun.

It's a good marketing exercise by Nissan. - They had a huge market share that they lost when the discontinued the Pulsar; bring it back and reclaim the market.
