Key snapped off in ignition barrel in car...! Help!

About 18mm of the end of the key is in the barrel, even if i put rest of key in, it wont turn, the key aint magnetic, so cant go down the road...
Attempted using super glue on end of remaining key and pulling it out that way, but its so slim and sharp, cant get it to stick... cant get nothing in the ignition to get it out like paperclips etc...

Only two other ideas i have is putting some resin on end of key, letting it dry and pulling it out like that, or putting some single strand insulated copper wire into the ignition to touch the end of the key, put an electric charge through the wire, and get a slight spark, enough to 'braise' it onto end of broken key to pull it out... other than that, i aint a clue...

Any ideaS?

(By the way, yes this is the 1st post ive made here, but i will introduce my self etc, just later, ie, i aint using u lot for this)...

You may have to remove the barrel and take it apart or replace it.

You could allways call out the AA or RAC as they proberly have had this problem to deal with a few times by now   .

Naw mate, they wont have a clue... My dads company tunes & repairs & imports japanese cars, a company which i work for, and we cant get the key out really... Cant take barrel appart, but i dont wanna replace barrel as that means different key for ignition..

I feel dirty

Silly question then, is there such a think as a specialist car type locksmith?

There will be paz, but i aint paying someone to do it when i can do it myself... its just a method..

Im considering feeding some spot weld wire into the ignition, (disconnecting the battery), turning welder on, let the wire touch the key and earth, and it usually sticks... then pull it out that way.

Got a key out of a barrel like that once by using a pressure washer hose!
made a right mess in the car but forced it out in the end (although this was on a ford)

DO IT DO IT DO IT.....I WANNA SEE WHAT HAPPENS LOL  dont weld your whole steering coloumn up!!

TBH, unless you can blow it out like Frank says or get it out with some wire/picks your only real option is to remove and strip the barrel or fit a new one

No, i dont mean Weld it, but u know when you spot weld, and you touch the welding wire to the metal ur welding, it sparks and like sticks to it, then u pulll the trigger and gases start flowing for it to weld, well im just on about that initial spark...

Yeah...get some TNT and blow the fecker apart, make sure you are a distance from the car coz you don't want to injure yourself.

Sorted the ignition.... I removed the barrel, (removing the steering lock at same time), so i can now drive my car due to no lock or ignition, just screwdriver...
Meanwhile, took barrel round to my mates house whos a locksmith, he got me to hold back the key retainer, then used two paperclips and slowly removed the broken key...

He's now cutting me two spares as i type this... :D

ONce i get the keys back, i'll put the ignition back together.
