The MD214 needs slight modification to fit.The oil return has to be welded up and redrilled as the bolt holes are very slightly different(took ine to an engineering firm and they charged about a tenner to do it).I then had to alter the gasket to suit. Also,on the turbine side where it bolts up to the dump pipe/elbow,one of the bolts is in a slightly different place so your elbow needs on of the holes filing out by about 2mm.
Got my MD214 turbo now but when I spoke to Craig from yurbo dynamics he said that all his units directly replace the standard T28 but roller bearing units require the oil drain pipe flange to be changed which he supplied :? :?

Also where can I get a set of braided water & oil lines for my turbo :?:

Just got a call back from the company I bought the turbo off and they said that I should hacksaw off the oil drain flange and weld the new oil drain flange back on in exactley the same place

Sounds simple enough

Thanks EDD. 8)

Any news on when you will be bringing your beast back to Brum :?:

A friend of mine that has an Escort Cosworth has just told me that his car is a 2.4 ex rally car  and is good for 400-450bhp

I am hoping that you will show him what 450bhp really moves like  :p

The oil return bolts on.I had to have the 2 bolt holes welded up and 2 new holes drilled which moves the drain hole into the right position. They have to be very precise so I had an engineering firm do it and they charged me about £10-15 for 30 mins work which isn't too bad really.I then had to modify the paper gasket slightly to match it up.

Just opened up the box that the turbo was in so I could have a good look because when I explained this to my local garage they looked rarther lost and started backing out of doing the job

Can one of you guys tell me what to do in plain & simple english :?:

Or Skiddusmarkus can you give me a contact number for the company that sorted your turbo :?:

I need help, with which HKS GTRS turbo to order.

Is it the S14/S15, S13 or go halves in the GTR kit?

Which one did Edd use?

I think I am ready to blow my gearbox now. :(

who did you buy it through - I need to know so i can try avoid customs :p

FYI customs have been speaking to the local distributor to see how much anything HKS is worth, so expect to cop the 15% or whatever it is on $3999 - that's the recommended retail price to buy that turbo locally

The duty for turbochargers is 5% in Oz... and the rule is that it's based on the actual price paid. With legitimate receipts etc, it should be a problem.

the only things that wont line up with the gtrs are the actuator mount and the return line to the sump, which is the bit im currently looking at trying to get, would a samco doubly thickness hose be ok from the flange to the sump, iof i cut off the pipe at the exit??

yes loz i am using a piece of samco as an oil return pipe as i didn't get one with the std turbo, its about 4m thick and hasn't been leaking as far as im aware and holds the temp fine, just make sure you put jubilee clip on each end 8)

use the flange of the return line provided with the GTRS and the elbow of the std return line...just weld them together.
