Head Gasket Thickness Query

Which factors determine the choice of head gasket thickness? Obviously if the heads been skimmed, but what else? The pulsars just came off the road for restoration and will be treated to a freshly built bottom end (87mm Pistons) and worked head (minimal, if any skimming)

Has the block been decked? I.e are the pistons lower than the deck or higher and by what amount ,what compression ratio you want (only changes it by a small amount)

ive not even took the bottom end out of its wrapper yet so couldnt say right now. Will look tomorrow. And i havent really done my homework on compression ratios so unfortunately, im usuare what would be best??

Stick with around stock compression ratio and you won't go wrong
i have in 8.5:1 compression forged cp pistons and had no issues with them for the past 5 years plus i use thhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Cometic-C4543-051-Head-Gasket-Nissan-SR20DET-Pulsar-GTiR-87-5mm-x-1-3mm-MLS-AWD-/181371904139?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a3a9ba08b&vxp=mtris cometic head gasket
