You mean like a standard gearbox is?deisel weasel said:well its made my mind up about going to a straight cut box tbh, i dont want to be sat here sometime in the future with a pile of bits wishing i'd swapped to a straight cut gearset.Fast Guy said:I thought helical gears were part of the problem and that sraight cut would be better?
dont get me wrong, the quaiffe is obviously a good option for a decent power, occasional drag, occasional track mainly road driven car, and strengthing the case will definately help but the way my car is going spec wise i think it'll end in tears
i've no real interest in having it as a road car anymore so straight cut wont be any bother, it'll still be road legal but it wont be popping to the shops

Have you had any joy with Ian on this subject? Will hopefully be up to see him in the next few months to start upgrading my engine for the coming season, so very interested in any gearbox modifications that would keep the car reliable on the track.
Cheers and a happy new year.
