Mine arrived aswell.
It'll be a while till its on, I was in no rush. Got other jobs on the car to do first.
However I do plan on doing a before and after on a rolling road to see what difference it makes. Unless someone beats me to it.
Thanks again Bogdan, top stuff and I'll be looking out for other things also.

Ok so it's all done and dusted! What a difference it's made all through the Rev range, it wasn't too bad a job the time was spent mainly aligning up the holes which needed fettling and I had to loose my under car brace to join the exhaust up to elbow. Anyway massive thanks to bogdan top piece of kit it's given the old shed a new lease of life.

Any change to the exhaust sound? - I had an odd theory that some of the resonance I get at ~80mph is from the way the stock elbow is angled; like blowing on the top of a bottle.

I guess I'll find out when I get round to installing mine.

Mates, your appreciation is much valued.
I know.....it is not easy to fit it...and nothing fits like a factory piece. This is because it is hand made.

By the way......I will make a in tank surge tank.

Any interested?

Anyone got a link for the thicker turbo to elbow gasket? Mine hits the Turbo housing by quite a bit.
Also the flange to the turbo needs machining flat.

A couple of questions please, for some valued input from you boffins.
I have my turbo on the bench ready to fit the elbow.
Do I use the bolts provided? Or the existing studs? Both will work, I think.
Also, I have drilled out the elbow holes from 8.5 to 9mm clearance, to allow the elbow to fit with a little clearance, to allow for thermal expansion. Is this what you guys have done?
Secondhand gasket. Should be ok, if not damaged, What do you guys think?
Jon
Going to fit new copper washers on the water/oil side, as I never trust re-used ones

Hi Jon,

You can use both version of bolts, either the one provided or your old ones.
If you made the holes 0.5 mm bigger there will be no issue at all.
Secondhand gasket, is it's not damaged you can use it.

Brand new copper washers are always a good idea!

I only used one of the new bolts supplied which I cut down to fit the awkward hole, if you cut about 10mm of the end of a Allen key place that in the bolt and use a 6mm spanner to tighten. Need to cut bolt shorter too.

I used the existing studs, with new nuts/bolts and flats. I didn't feel the correct torque could be applied on the supplied cap heads. I also fitted a thicker type gasket as mine fouled with the turbine housing, all good now though.
Nice and shiny !

Mine just arrived.....

How are people going about machining the Turbo face flange flat? I am not really a fan of bolting a pre warped uneven surface that will be under intense heat to a gasket that is already prone to blowing.
