I really would think long and hard about using 19" wheels on this car... Whether you drive it hard or not the load on your drive train is going to be quite high along with your risk of failure...

Paddle Clutch with those wheels and a std box is a bad idea so if you really have to do this then use a decent Organic Clutch...

Also bare in mind that the 19's are going to be quite wide... You'll have no chance with standard shocks... Maybe worth looking into some slimmer coilovers...

have any1 ever fitted 19'' & drove around on them?
I doubt it ;-) I think you'll find nearly all R owners would rather chew on their own nutsack than drive around on 19's :biggrin1:

why is that then? my 18'' look mint & i dont have any1 say it looks shit, its the other way round. once ive parked it on the flat i'll take sum photos ov them & c what every1 thinks?
(1 little problem i have, i aint got a clue how to post photos !! help)

I had 18s on my original black Pulsar for a week and it looked silly. Looked more like a roller-skate than a gti-r. Handled ok, but I lost shit loads of accelleration.

it will look silly if you got a standard setup but ive got coilovers so the ride hight looks tidy, but its down to the wheels aswell. if they suit the car or not???

if i dont like them or they look silly i can always take them off, like i said.
Honestly bud they will look stupid, thats b4 you put them on, a GTi-R is about performance, not about silly Max Flower 19 inch wheels, silly body kits or stupid paint!

It was lowered and the wheels suited the car. They were just too big. It's a small hatchback fer chrissake!

I'll see if I can dig out a pic.
I agree, the Pulsar is a tiny hatchback, my Evo 8 ran 18's n they still looked big, a Pulsar is fine on 16's mate!

You'll never get everyone on here to like 19's on an R but at the end of the day its your car so as long as you like it thats ok 8) Your always gonna get negative comments about them, just tell us to fook off and dont take it too seriously

its not that much ov a difference, 2inches bigger that the avrage wheel fitted to a gtir
i like the look ov the pulsar & the only things ive changed are on the outside is the wheels brakes, frontmount intercooler, twin exhaust at the back (witch is next) & its booked in after my other car comes out ov the spray shop
ive already got a bit ov power under the bonnet (about 340bhp on 1.1) & i know i cant play with it under there anymore until i uprate to a quailf gearbox, id probley sell the gtir or one ov the other cars after xmas to buy a escort cosworth or a skyline.

2 inches per corner.equals shit loads more rolling diameter for the gear box and drive train to deal with.plus unsprung weight is a big factor in handling /cornering but is you car............ann example........i have 17 inch wolfrace urban 5s on my old pulsar.they weighed aprrox 17 kgs a corner  my older wheels i took off roughly weigh 5-6 kgs each.so i put them back on.there 16 inch and the handing transformed plus the acceration:twisted:

im looking into the weight on the drifters wheels & they the wheels i like too..
but im not looking for permance now, thats all i want is plenty ov bhp under the bonnet & i stunning lookin ride to drive around on, ive got a bit ov work on my other cars to do aswell so i aint in any rush to, its got be right
