White smoke (after fitting new turbo)

the smoke would most probably be from the old turbo, if the seals had gone then it will probably dump oil down the exhaust, this will eventually burn of with use.
the hot/cold hoses depends on how long you had the car running, thermostat will open when the car is upto normal operating temp. you can remove it and test it in a kettle of boiled water to see if it opens, or like pulsarlee said remove it and run the car to check the circulation.

ran it with no thermostat and still the pipe is not getting hot so defiantly a air lock some where, but the temp of the engine is still fine and it does not over heat.

How long are you running this engine for with out the stat its going to take along time for all the pipes to get hot has the water pump failed. You would better off replacing the stat as they are only cheap any way when you say clouds of white smoke if you rev it does it get worst or disappear.

If the stat is still out, just test it. Put it in boiling water and see if it opens. Could be the water pump like Geoff says, as long as you're giving it time to get to temperature.

we gave it time to warm up, the engine doesnt seem to be over heating and the coolant system was working fine till we flushed it out so im guessing an airlock. The white smoke gets worse when you rev it
