also if i can't fix the problem/setting or what ever i done - as the apexi's are plugged upto my my uprated Mines ECU could i just unplug that ECU & use my spare standard ECU? (will it work? or do i have to change something else from under the bonnet?)

:D Hi mate,if you just want to erase the memory to get back to the factory settings, the on the main menu there is an 'initialise' option, just click on this and click on yes and you should be back to the defaults :!: But you will have to go into the basic set up feature afterwards

Cheers mate!

thanks again for your reply

:D Hi mate, all the SAFC alters is the signal from the MAF to the ECU,so if you look at the wiring where it has been spliced, the MAF wire should be cut and have 2 different coloured wires attached to either piece with 'bullet' type connectors :!: If it has been wired correctly, then you can unplug the 2 different coloured wires and re-connect the MAF wire returning the car back to standard fueling :D

cool! thanks. 1 question - what colour is the MAF wire? i don't want to connect the wrong wire & go bang!

i wish this was easy:(

:D There should be only 1 wire on the ECU loom that is cut mate :D But i'll see if i can find my manual out and let you know the colours :D

v much apprieciate mate :D  (my tuners - not mentioning names threw my instuction box & manual away  )

but if it is possible to do this with out messing the apexi's further just let me know. i.e. just plugging a standard ECU in. (if that method works with the Apexi's not working) but if it is the easiest just to re-initialise like you said in the begining - so be it.. i'll do it just to make it move so i can get them sorted by the pro's.

:D Yes mate, just initialise it and then put the standard settings back in i.e.TPS type,Speed sensor type, calibrate the knock sensor so on and so forth :D If you just swap the ECU it will still be the same as the Apexi is still altering the signal

if you want to disconnect it just re-plug the maf wires together like shaun says- its the thicker bright orange one- it will be the only one cut, hopefully theyve put connectors on it and not just soldered the new wires up.

take a look through the manual and see what set up procedure to follow iirc the r runs a hot wire system and the two numbers on one of the screen will be the same if your running the standard maf i.e 5 and 5. sorry best i can explain.

dont re-initialise it or you will have to fork out for a remap again

Thank you v much peeps for all your helpful replies. 8)
i will give it a go tomorrow.

GTIRLOZ thats what i think i buggered up - hotwire to Karmar? or something like that i put it back to hotwire & was running a bit better... but a bit stutery then turned of the engine & tried again the next day & did not start  i guess i have to try & do the 5 5 like u lot said.

Thats is what i was thinking/worried about andygtir :? i will try & sort the wires out & plug in the standard ecu. if no joy  then i will have to re-initialise :(

p.s. what is iirc?? sorry i don't know.

To expand on what andygtir said...

If you re-initialise the unit, you will need to set the 'Sens' parameter. This setting is what determines the MAFS signal type in and out of the unit. You can change this if you are running a different type of MAFS. If you have a std MAFS, then the setting for 'Sens' will be In=5, Out=5. If you are running a Z32 MAFS it's In=2, Out=5 and if, like me, you have gone the whole hog and have a Q45 jammed in under the bonnet, it's In=1, Out=5

The rest of the setup is pretty straightforward on the S-AFC II.

right.. u chaps are the best
i went into the hotwire menu & it was on 1 in 1 out so i put that to 5 in 5 out. then after that menu pressing next it went into another menu saying sens cal-(i think) which also was on 1 in 1 out?? should i change this to 5 in 5 out too!???

as for the MAF signals.. all i know i got a Mines ecu - not sure if this changes that & should be on the settings 5 in 5 out etc..

please help me out again!
