While i have the engine out, what should i change

I've got the engine out in my 'R' putting forged pistons into her. Is there anything i should change while i have the engine out. Its a '94 with 100k km's

If you have never had your water pump fail id change that as it costs £40 but is a nightmare to change later with it back in,also put new drive belts on again for the obvious reason.You could fit uprated mounts if your going down the full forge piston route :wink:

Also:

Oil pump internals
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch(NOT a standard one)
Water pipes on back of block(several people have had them split)

if you suffer from high idle it may be wise to change the idle control solonoid, or at least clean it, as that is also a bugger to get to

Ye i'm changing the clutch to a AP one. I asked the mechanic to check the water pump and he said it was perfect. I must get him to check the rest of the stuff now

Hey if you don't know how old that water pump is then just do it, check those pipes by the oil cooler they go soft with time :(

knock sensor as it may be dear afterwards and these tend to go
