what should my oil pressure be?

hi guys
ive just bought an r and i love it but i am a bit worried about the oil pressure
what should it be?
when it is cold the gauge reads about 5
and in normal use about 2 - 4 is this ok
it doesnt blow smoke what so ever btw but the top end is a bit rattly but not too bad

Sounds about right from memory, maybe go to 6 on start up.

oil presure sounds good mate top end of alot of RRR hav a little rattle due to the shims plus the chain doesnt help either as thats a bit noisey

most gauges are innacurate ,my grey r read 3 cold, 5 warm, 2 tickover, my red.r reads just over 4 cold,2 tickover and 6 on acceleration hope that helps squire, daveyboy;-)

pressure sounds good mate you want to be worried when it stays on 3 when cold 1 on tickover and 3 on acceleration this is what mine was on when it died of bearing failure and a valve stem seal plus youll notice that it doesnt pull anymore and is shit slow!!
