Standard Pistons

Hi,

Does anyone have a pic of the top of a standard GTIR piston. New, used or damaged, it doesn't matter.

Cheers,

Andy

Im pretty sure it is actually "54c".

If you want to check if they are standard you just need to remove the sparkplugs and shine a torch down there you can just read 54c off them if you get the right angle. you can even see casting marks in the middle mine looked clean as aswell (spotless infact).

Cheers all,

I've used a carbon cleaner so I can see the piston OK but couldn't find the 54c markings. Thepiston does look very pitted though. Can you rememeber where the mark is in relation to the centre?

I cant remember exactly how i shone the torch down there but it took a little bit of time to get the perfect angle to read the numbers.

Being a cast piston they wont be perfectly smooth on top but they wont be like sandpaper either.
