do you say too rich, cause of the black on the rest of the plug, and too hot a heat range because of the slight what appears to be melting?

defo runs too rich, got an AEM wideband and it runs down to 10AFR

put the NGK 8`s in earlier and seems to run nice, engine noise even seemed a little less harse, but only had very short run, so will see again tomorrow

had a bit of a longer drive this morning, the engine definatly seems to make a better noise, slightly less harse sounding

I must have been getting DET before, hope I havent damaged it too much

sure I saw a circular mark on the top of the piston, but was probably the light from the torch in the shape of the spark plug hole

The colour of the plug earth electrode looks fine (from what I can see) but, that gap looks huge too.
The insulator colour looks a little odd too ?!
And that earth electrode looks bent as well as worn ?!

If you were experiencing det, enough to melt a part on your plugs, then chances are you have also caused other damage, and since your running rich its almost certainly to do with ignition timing...
