Som mild mods - turbo help

I’m looking at buying a used gtx2867r gen 2 turbo (and link g4x, 1000cc RC injectors)

im running standard top mount - and the turbo is coming without an actuator.

Whats needed to be modified/purchased to fit this and specifically to my top mount set up?

is it a horrible job to remove the turbo and fit this myself, so I can take it to the mapper and he doesn’t have to mess around swapping over my turbo?

also, I’ve bought some r8 coils too. What’s involved in using the dizzy as a trigger?

Be keen to see how people have wired these in. Is there an ignition amplifier that needs bypassing or anything like that? (I saw an eBay wiring loom that called out the use of an amplifier bypass)

thanks for the help. Just trying to get everything ready so my cars not stuck on the ramps at the garage waiting on me finding parts!

hello

The things i can comment on from experience.

In regards to the turbo, the inlet housing on that new turbo may foul the gear box housing since, i'm assuming, its a little bigger. That is a bit of a head-ache but not impossible to solve with a manifold spacer.

Actuator: it will need to have one with a straight arm and an uprated internal spring / diaphragm.

I'd say if you're a bity savvy with cars, meaning, you've fiddled with an engine before, replacing the turbo is pretty straightforward all said and done, yes, it involves draining the coolant, taking the radiator out, perhaps the alternator to get to the last couple of stud bolts hiding under there on the manifold.

What BHP are you looking to work towards, this is important?

If you're gonna keep the top mount with this set up and hike up the BHP, you'll melt the engine!
You "could" try and have a custom PWR intercooler made to replace the top mount core, but you're still going to have issues with this set up if your going to be running high BHP.
Anything over 330bhp with a top mount is pointless and risky.

Next, a GTX2876 will NOT fit using the standard manifold (ask me how I know).
The inlet will foul again the side of the gearbox housing and not mate up to the manifold correctly.
So you'll need a custom manifold making or a 10mm spacer for the OEM manifold and then a custom down pipe making so it all fits.
Also order a Forge actuator with a spring that meets your boost needs.

Have you also uprated the engine? - Forge pistons, (maybe rods), head gasket, clutch, gearbox, fuel pumps?
the GTX2876 with 1000cc injectors could push past the 500bhp mark, this will need a LOT of upgrades.

As for the coils, you can just use Nissan OEM R35 GTR coils, they are cheaper and a perfect fitment for the GTiR.

Also, if you can remove the turbo and manifold under 120 mins, that good going.
My record is 100 mins removed :) (as its all new/refreshed)
