Removing air con

Hey guys. I have my engine in bits and am in the process of a rebuild from the ground up. I am heading rapidly toward the air con compressor and wanted to know if it is easy to remove. The plan was to take it out completely but I am unsure if it is required for anything else on the pulleys i.e water pump etc. Does anyone know what the implications are of removing it? Thanks guys

Nope, whip it off. New belt and that's it. 4 or 6 rib 845mm (or slightly smaller) range

There's no detrimental effect other than being hot on the two days a year that you'll need it.

Don't forget to remove the sodding great big iron bracket that the pump is mounted to. It's a git to get one of the bolts out, but worth it as it weighs more than the pump itself.
