rear diff oils

my rear diff was leaking slightly from wen i bought the car i want to fix this problem and change the oil can this be done with the diff still on the car
wots the best fluid to use

I used silkolene syn 5 75w90 when i changed my diff oil. The oil can obviously be done with the diff fitted, where's it leaking from.

its leaking from the backplate im gonna take it off and re-seal it, is the filler plug on top of the diff

ill have a look can i just use gasket goo to seal the back plate back on or will i need a gasket from nissan, how much oil does it hold do i just fill it till it comes out the filler hole

not had one apart so i dont know if there is a gasket. Nissan tend to use sealer on alot of joints so this may be the same.
Diff holds about 1.5lt,but as you said just fill it till comes out the level plug hole.
