just had my rear calipers reconned (saw the link Steve:doh: ) when i got them back i had to re assemble them and fit new pads which iv never done before as i dont trust myself with brakes
i left the calipers with the shop and when i picked them up i found that the guy had chucked the metal plates which go on the pad itself:? he reckoned they were there to suppress noise and not to keep the pad in place...is this true? i need to know for obvious reasons:lol:
the plates which sit in the bottom of the carrier are there its just the ones off the pads that are missing. i' ll sort a pic if needed.
cheers, Stu
