Yes there are nice to look at, And thats all your be doing without
a gearbox .

Maybe you could mount them on the wall in your bedroom and
remember that they once wen't round and around on an R, Oh
the memory's they where the good times :shock: :lol: .ah.

Just got the car home yesterday night, right now Im looking for someone who can take the job to reinstall the whole thing which isnt that easy in sweden.

Surely there must be someone local who can sort that.

the actual gears are installed to the shafts. It everything else that is loose.

If its only 5th gear that doesn't work then I would expect that its stripped the teeth off it which providing the pieces that came off the gear haven't damaged anything else then all you'd need is a new 5th gear, the box gears etc cleaning out and the box reassembled again.
Surely you must have mechanics over there :? its a pretty simple job that any half competant mechanic could do.
Mr GTIR is selling the manual to repair this to so you could give that to the mechanic to so there would be no excuses.
Maybe pm Olly or Mike (ex gtir) and see if they fancy a holiday in Sweden

Ive already got the new gears in place...
Ive also already got the service manual.
Ive also found my new mecanic so hopefully it will be done in about a week.
