Problems with my HKS EVC I controller. Anyone got one?

Hey guys, I recently bought a second hand HKS EVC I.

I have just installed it, and I am getting maximum boost at all times when I floor it. Naturally I am stopping at about 14 psi so not to cause damage.

The instructions say that when the unit is off, it should switch back to standard boost . aka 10psi. But this isn't happening. The back controls for low and high boost are set at minimum as is the volume control.

BUT when I turn it on, all the boost light on the boost bar are lite up perminately.

I am running the power from the standard boost controller unit power wire. Think this could be part of the problem? Should I chenge it to the ignition coil. Not that I know what I am doing .

The vacuum hoses seem to be connected to the right spots as per there online instructions. http://www.hksusa.com/info/download.asp?id=1739#

It also says that the standard boost control unit should be disabled. Do they mean complete unplugged? Or just have the vacuum hoses off?

I was running a manual GFB boost controller with out a hitch.

Any suggestions? Advice on what to check?

Thanks
