I have seen various oil leak stop additives. I believe they help the seals regain thier size and softness.. Has anyone had any experience with these and which one do you recommend.. DJ

dont waste your money on any of them tbh, buy a small tub of brake fluid and pour that in with the oil will do exactly the same job but better!
swells and softens rubber seals if that dont work then nothing will other than doing the job properly and changing the things.

yes wont do any harm at all, all you need is 250ml and will work better than half of the other concoctions on the market! but no substitute for doing the job correctly in the first instance.

Think is the crank seal. Oil is coming down just above the sump left had side of engine if you are looking at it from the engine bay. can this seal be changed without major engine work? DJ

yep if its just the front crankshaft oil seal its no more than an hours work to change it and a seal will cost you around the same cost as small tub of brake fluid.
do it properly and its done then, if it had been the rear main seal thats gone then thats a different story.
