Mapping

Was wondering where people go for mapping the power fc, the isnt road worthy at the minute but needs setting up so its going to have to be done on the rollers, i spoke to horsham but they £299 for the map then another £199 to do it on the rollers so £500 seems a little dear to me, unless that is what is should be??

That's a bit steep   , Russ at Wallace Performance charges about £300 for a full re-map from scratch, Which I think is about the going rate for a lot of tuners.

So they want to charge you £300 for some random pulsar base map then another £199 to set it up on the rollers  , The power FC has a base map in it and the correct way is to alter that to the spec of your car which should cost around £300 on the rollers.

I'd be looking elsewhere if I where you mate  .

I think Horsham map on the road.

The extra £199 is for the hire of Surrey Rolling road.

Here's from their website (http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info...id=39&osCsid=a0e236f2c5d968bb9af549f9766c85de)
"We map on the road (and can map on a rolling road if required at an additional cost) using the latest wideband lambda sensor technology, along with full data logging and detonation detection. We have an MOT standard gas analyser to check the emissions, if required."

Best bet is to go to a place with it's own rolling road, Then they should be able to do the whole job themselves.

Mine will be mapped on the rollers and finished off on the road, But it's still £300 all in.

If it helps, I charge 190 to map PFC, on the road. Rollers are £80/hr if you want that., if its a minor adjustment then it would be less.
In what way is it not road worthy? It should be possible to get the car to a state of tune where its fine to drive, unless there is something very specific, or a problem with your set up, without even moving the car since the PFC has an acceptable base map anyway. (but may just need tweaking for your spec).

From what I can see you have a Z32 and 700cc injectors, which are the main points that will need adjusting for..?

Their you go mate, Take it to Ed he has mapped a couple of my friends cars and they are very happy with the results, Steve and frank are both over 400 bhp.

I reckon you should sell the power FC and fit one of Ed's modified standard ECU's lol.

Cheers Rob,

I have loads of pulsars at ~400+ now ;) and some others makes at significantly more ;) Oh and agree about the stock ecu. It does a much better job than any piggyback or PFC ever could, that is not to say however that they are not perfectly acceptable, just in the quest for ever more they simply are not as capable as a remap (the only thing better being a fully spec'ed stand alone ecu)

The car is unroadworthy in the fact theres no rear glass, no bumpers, no mot, and still alot of work to get it to an mot state, the cars having a few mods done and a full colour change, but need it set up at this stage really, it hasnt been internally rebuilt it is just the fact of add on like 700cc z32 gt3071r that sort of thing, i do think i want to go for a garage that has there own rolling road.
