lol a friend of mine pulled his actuator line with his Mitsubishi eclipse TSI in the final round of the last race of the season,,, he won with a 10.89 pass. (drag strip) and crossed the lights with a blown motor... he one almost as much money as the rebuild cost TOTALLY worth it!
Totally worth it. You should try it report back with your success

I have a greddy infometer and at idle the timing ranges between 10 -20 degrees admitedly my pcv hoses are leaking But other than that is sound

I would rely on a good mbc than an electronic one .... if you can't find a vacumn leak maybe you have a faulty/leaking diaphragm in your actuator or worst scenario could be a lazy compressor turbine... bearing. Could even be an ill fitting wastegate button or a crack in that area... hope you get to the bottom of the issue!

i had a problem similar to this, and my turbosmart eboost 2, was set not with not enough sensibilty and the gates pressure was set too low. i gain 250 rpm and a little bit more response on gear change on std tubby @ 15.5 psi
