in car heater

hello can any one help the heater in car was fine till about two weeks ago.if u switch it on 1,2or3 nothing happens.but if you put it to maximum it will blow hot or cold air what ever you set it too.Its an english gtir so no air con cheers bakewell:der:

It could be the resistor on the fan unit behind the glovebox, mine went last year, was just a matter of taking it out and fitting a new resistor, easy Job.

deffo the resistor, have a look above where your passengers left foot would be, you'll see a connector about 3 or 4 inches long, disconnect that then undo the two screws, it'll drop right out.

i had same prob didnt wk on 1,2,just max blew hot and cold new heatercards and it was sorted;-)

went to nissan today and picked one up took about ten mins to fit works fine thanks everyone cheers bakewell

was it heater cards then or resistor?
