im trying to setup the ignition timing, but am having difficulties cos i cant get the car to idle below 1500rpm.

is there any way i can get the correct timing correct at this rpm?? or a way i can drop the rpm?? i have adjusted the idle control screw all the way in.

i just wanna get it spot on so i dont bugger the car up.

any info gratefully appreiciated.

Still waiting on some shims!
Check that you haven't lost one of the nipples across the throttle body...

You ideally want the revs @ 1200 or less...

have no air leaks, throttle bodies are all ok.

if i set the timing where it is on this idle it lacks power up the road

i also had this problem, i just set the timing so it ran fine, but i had an idle of 1,500rpm :( ive since changed the idle control valve and found an air leak or 2 and its now back down to around 1,100rpm
