ignition coil stops working ?????

can anyone help,my gtir has let me down again!!!!!:doh: .
i have had to replace my coil twice in one weekcar back fires badly for a few seconds then it stops,defo the coil cause {no spark from H.T.lead}.WHAT MAKES A COIL BLOW??? is my question....
can i run any test to rectify the problem?....ps looking for a 3rd one:x

sorry if this sounds silly lol, power transistor unit,is this another name for a coil....yeah ?????

no, the coil has the HT lead wich goes to the dizzy, the power transistor is an electronic switch which switches the power on and off to the coil. The transistor is at the back righthand corner of the head
