the nistune will need a base map? if it has no map loaded, it will stay in safe mode (orange ecu light on dash - though this may not be present).
when i loaded up empty map (or board wasn't seated properly on pins in ecu), exact same thing.

i got some Brake clean near drowned it threw it back in and (fingers crossed hasnt done it since)
