i've been told that the tapping noise in the top of my engine means i need a head rebuild. is this right?

does the pulsar have shims that could be replaced? is it the shims that are the tapping sound?
it's defo a sound from the top end.

how much is it going to cost for a head rebuild? or if there are shims can they be done without removing the head to keep the cost down?

i cant do this job on my own :( gearbox was hard enough for me right now i'm not so good with the insides of engines.

thanks

you can do the shims quite easily if you can find the ones you want

i wouldn't worry about it if its abit noisey tbh unless you have plans

i'm not sure if its a bit noisy or quite noisy. does either matter?

what would be the result of not getting this sorted over time?
worn cams? reduced power? possible breakage at higher rev? anything else??
