Head Bolt Torque settings with a metal head gasket

As the title says really. Myself and my two mechanic mates helping me re-build the engine are having a difference of opinon as to whether we should Torque the bolts to the standard settings or go higher.

In the future will probably rung the turbo at 1.4-1.6Bar

Being the diplomat, I suggested using the Nissan settings to near the top of the range. The bolts are new but standard so I would not want to overtorque them.

Anyone some comments/experience?

Cheers,
Jim

i,d go for highest standard setting possible as there is obviously difference in material if not torqued properly you,ll have problem with sealing.

That's my guess too Zia, appreciate your comments. The argument is whether you exceed the standard Torque Setting?

When i put my HKS 1.2 mm headgasket on i just did them to the torque figure from the Nissan service manual

That was 18 months ago and its fine :D

if they are new then i wouldn,t worry about over torque them as long as the thread in the block and bolts are oiled and correct procedure is adhered too you,ll be fine.
