mines ecu is now sold stuey.
all i have left is an e-manage blue or an apexi safc11, but tbh jen you would be better to get your standard ecu remapped, if anyone over in canada does that kind of thing;-)

i thought genatalia was a good name btw:lol: :lol:

You know, I don't live in an igloo, and my car doesn't have snowshoes for tires.

Ok so Im assuming that the stock BOV recirculates, how does the stock R run with a BOV thats vented?

Fine, as long as it doesn't leak.

I'd stick my neck out and say that the HKS SSQV is the most popular amongst R owners but, there are a few with the Sheepdog and Blitz unit too.

Ok, well I ask because my boyfriend is going to put on a BOV for me some time soon and i just wanted to know if it will run crappy, as DSM's sometimes don't want to idle well when the BOV has been vented. I haven't been able to find much info on the car.

Never heard of a sheepdog BOV. It will be a Greddy RS, HKS SSQV is too common here, almost every boosted car has one equipped.

all afm equipped cars should use a recirculated bov, or u will run rich on the gear change.this will cause fouling of the plugs ect. all the hks,greddy bov`s can be recirculated by buying the adaptor.

I've not had a fouled plug in 5 years and 53k miles of driving my GTiR with an HKS SSQV. So, that's not strictly true. ;-)

saskatoon is the opposite. Everybody uses the dang greddy stuff here. Greddy and turboxs.

HKS will be going on my car. SSQV all the way.:thumbsup:

No, the whole bloody lot is weak :lol: The standard gears strip their teeth (even running standard boost) the selector forks snap (due to being made of chocolate) the casings break, name a part in the gearbox and its shite ;-)

The rear diff and transferbox rarely cause problems, just a shame about the gearbox :doh:

Where would I get upgraded shift forks, syncros, and bearings, what's usually the first sign of the tranny going bad? Grinds going into gear? Hard to shift?

If my dad's eyes weren't failing on him, I bet he would love to talk to the ireland boys. He came to Canada from Greystones I think it was, He just went back and visited for a while, but some of the pictures on here are beautiful and I bet he would love to see them, even if they are a bit blurry in his vision.

I guess you guys don't care much for In Car Entertainment lol. So since the other thread I posted didnt get an answer yet, Ill ask it here.

Im going to put Dynamat on the rear of the car, wondering how hard it is to take out the headliner and shove something between the roof skin and bracing, and how bad it is to do the hatch

if you want the car for quater mile sprinting why would you want to dynamat the inerior it can add so much weight??

ive not had the roof linning out on mine yet but i assume its not going to be difficult, is the roof rattling?? if so its probably come un-attached to the brace, ive heard people using stkaflex (sp) its a heavy duty bonding material that you apply between the two and once it has dried it will become extremely solid which i will be doing to mine in the future, im sure if you do a search there will be a "how to" lurking about

Yeah, the roof rattles quite a bit. Its annoying the hell out of me.

Really, I was only planning on dynamatting the roof and bits of the hatch. It wouldnt add much weight, and the subs have to come out for drag racing anyway.

I did see the "how to" for the headliner and roof brace on the other R forums, and its helpful. Thanks to the guy who recommended to check there. Their ICE forum is more in depth than here, I'll check there from now on so as not to bother you guys and make you frustrated that I have a passion for bass as well as speed. (I guess females like vibration more than men :p JUST KIDDING)

I heard that putting a bead of silicone along the bracing helps quite a bit, but I dunno about that one.

You would be right in thinking that to , sick boy did the same on his R, Big improvement!!!
