Gear box help please.....

I've spoken to Uncle Ian and we're going to try something tomorrow so if all goes well we might have the car up and running for the end of the week.

If it does not wrk then the box is coming out, being fixed by him then i'll kick his a$$!

u should be able to fix it with out taking it all out, just pop the end casing off the box and re alighn reverse then put the end casing back on and pu the bolt in.

If i take the end g/b casing off, while the box is still attached to the engine, what will drop out (apart from oil)?

I mean in terms of parts and gears etc? I believer there is a spring and bearing of some sort that may come out?

Before you take the casing off take out the 2 bolts i've marked in the picture and there will be 1 spring and 1 ball bearing in each hole, the spring should come out first ;-) But as whoever built has already forgotten 1 important bolt who knows what you'll find :lol:

cheers Mark, we're going to try and get the reverse idleing shaft back into postion tonight. If that does not work then it's engine out and box off.....

Just to keep you updated, the box is coming out and being sent to The Gearbox Man for a rebuild.

Just need to find myself a box to borrow so I can run my engine in.
