Before you big boys have ago because ano its a frequently asked thing , I've done a quick search and can not find anythin to my passific needs
Right , going getting my fueling check soon from a guy called ric woods legendish in vauxhall world and he's like 2miles away , plus only guy local with a 4x4 rollers , basicly charging 125£ per hour on the rollers does that seem reasonable?
Also I have the old apexi Safc the oolllldddd 5 nob type one would this be fine? .
What exactly would I be look at for to make shur he's done a goo job ill fit my walbro before I go and have a devils valve (bleed valve) so want to run 1 bar ? Any figures I should look for what exactly would he be doing?
Cheers chris

I would have thought that at ~1bar you don't need the SAFC; the standard setup should be able to cope with that quite happily.

All he'll be doing is putting a sensor in your exhaust (essentially a wide-band lambda probe), then running the car through the revs to see what it reads as it goes. - I can't remember the figures off the top of my head, but it will start fairly lean at idle. It should be slightly rich on the power band (the extra fuel works to prevent DET in forced induction), and probably quite rich by the redline.

The safc is allready pluged in , weridly if I disconnect the box its runs on idal and revs but as soon as u attempt to drive it bogs out and farts and dies , bit werid but ano the safc works tho and I'm guessing its easyer to adjust the fueling ect,

So what sort of power was it running before you bought it as there's no need to interfere with the fuelling at one bar !!!

£125 per hour is about alot. the 2 4x4 dynos ive been to charge £80 per hour and then £50 for every hour after. dyno runs are £50.

i had my car mapped and set up on the rollers for about £60 as ed did the map quite quickly. thats dyno time only not including the nistune supply, fit and map.

if hes any good he will be able to set the car up at whatever boost and on your safc and get the fueling right no problem.

look at the afrs, think they should be hanging around 11 on full boost and no more than 12 or less than 10 i think, maybe someone else will know the exact answer to that

What does ano mean?

As said above, at 1 bar you shouldn't have to mess around with the fuelling, unless it's been messed with previously and is out at the moment.

this is ONLY a guide to afr I have found, and gtir sr20det is unique, so may differ a little ... but my day to day afr matches more or less as in bold as tuned by Ed@fusion

Alright seems that alot of people have that "what AFR is Ideal"
question in mind and search but don't search hard enough or are just
too damn lazy. no worries I have taken time out of my so called
:valuable life" to write my fellow zilvians the AFR sessentials,
Injector size calculator, and come common injector sizes from other
cars here we go

Air/Fuel Mixture
6.0 Rich Burn limit (fully warm engine)
9.0 Black Smoke Low Power
11.5 Aproximate rich best torque at WOT
12.2 SAfest best power at WOT
13.3 Aproximate Lean best torque
14.6 Stoichiometric AFR (chemically Ideal)
15.5 Lean Cruise
16.5 Usual Best Economy
18.0 Carburated Burn Limit
22+ EFI Burn Limit

if you are further confused and don't know what to pick here are the answers
11.3 at WOT and full boost
14.6 at idle (mine more 13-14 - cooler idle)
12.2 cruise / low throttle
14-16 lean cruise (off boost / motorway)

Thankd for the info and ano (I know) sorry using phone so used to texting people and the safc has been messed with so that's controlling the fueling atm so that needs to be adjusted if you no what I mean , and that's 125£ an hour including what ever needs doing. I guess it is a lot thinking of labour terms , wound if he'll charge 62.5 if it only takes 30mins? Not sure but shure with the very old safc makes it a lot easyer to adjust it, after the check going to get a windband fitted just to makes sure everything stays ok just incase a mate or the women messes with ther safc

id say £125 is over priced to be fair chris! i know of rolling roads that charge £60 an hour including adjustments! if you can afford it why dont you go & get a proper job done by Ed at fusion in surry & a NISTUNE remap!

thats what i did. i think its around £450 for nistune remap & £70 for rolling road! i trailord mine down as its around a 3& half hour drive from our end! but best £520 ive ever spent. well worth it! & you know its been set up properly by Ed whos had ALOT of experiance with these cars!

Last time i got a rolling road tune/checkover it was £60 for an hour on the rollers, they checked AFR's were ok and gave printouts, £125 sounds a bit steep imo

just a quick question out of curiosity, how many of you guys that have had your fueling "checked" have actually had your injectors tested/cleaned to make sure their all in spec?
