My tranny seems to go fine into gears, 1,2, 5 and reverse, but for the 3rd and 4th gears, it won't go into gear at all. I read this coudl be the fork selector. If this is correct, could i just replace the fork selector or do I have to rebuild teh tranny. Please let me know.

If the problem could be anything else, please let me know.

also the costs involved with a rebuild, or anything related. Thanks

selecta

had the same prob with mine only it was 1st & 2nd
turned uot to be input shaft main bearing had shattered
and bits of it was jamming the selectors

had a local gearbox mech take the endcase off
and replace all bearings cost £450 pooonds

is it noisy in neutral mine sounded like clutch release bearing
but it wasnt
best thing to do is not drive till u figure out wot it is if u get
any bits in the gears it will cost double

The 3/4 selector is abit of a weak point and does break, so if it has broken then you should be able to get away with just changing that, as long as the bits haven't caused any other damage.
