Escort turbo Vs Evo VID

;)

Yes, but would the Evo give me the same adrenaline rush I get everytime my RST comes onto boost? That feeling of wanting to drag me into the hedge and having to hang onto the Steering Wheel for dear life!!

Sick aren't I??!!

I do enjoy driving Gary's Evo, but in a very different way.

As for how long it took me to catch him, he must have got a 300metre Head Start on me!!

Also, the RST is over 1000kg. Mine runs full interior.

The Evo is around 1400kg, so the deficit is a little less. ;)

I would say that both cars are approaching 300bhp at the wheels, at a guess.

tbh is not realy a fair match is it an 850 kilo car running say 28 psi of boost vrs a 1600 kilo car running 22 psi ish evo to 130 killed it who realy needs to go 165 around townand on back roads the rs would be left for dead....
Also, out of interest, how can you possibly compare Boost figures between two cars with two completely different turbo's??

OK, so the Evo would be the winner around the Twisty back-roads, but on a run from, say, London to Norwich with a good mix of Roundabouts, Bends and Straights, I think the outcome may be a little more interesting.

Each to their own I guess!

its old news mate the thread is nearly 2 years old. from what i know now the ATP evo is running a bit more power now, so might be a bit of a different outcome.

very old thread!

also while we're on the subject of the car, my old series 1 was running more power then christians (nearer 400bhp) and weighed less! but was stolen before i got a chance to race him..

and it was the same month it was on the front cover of Fast Ford :(

What makes me laugh is that the video finishes when he says "and the evo is no-where to be seen" just in time for people not to see the evo rocket past fiesta and then it tries to chase after it. Within seconds the evo has left the fiesta for dead and his cocky-ness is short lived... ;-)
