Clutch pedal Problem?

hey ive got problem with my 90' gti-r clutch pedal.

whats happening is that when i press down its creaks and feels real stiff to engage. This seems to happen about mid clutch ( half way).

The thing is though it doesnt happen every time but majority of the time

Ive been told that this is a common problem? if this is true, is there anyway over overcomming the problem?

Maybe re-kitting the master or slave cylinder

any help would be much appreciated

check that the pedal box is not sheering, as it is weak and can suffer from metal fatigue and fracture.

had a customer in last week with the same fault, just replaced the clutch master cylinder.
feels alot smoother.

be careful tho, there are a couple of variations on the cylinder. the first one i got given had the pipe on the other side, and the reservoir hit the bulkhead

when my peddle started to creak etc, i had about 40miles before it went snap

when it goes it will just leave you stranded :(
