Yes the freeplay can be adjusted, on the rod that comes out of the master cylinder and onto the pedal (under the dash) there a lock nut at the pedal end loosen that nut then turn the rod in or out to loosen or tighten the freeplay there should be a slight bit of freeplay before the rod touch the piston in the master cylinder otherwise it could cause the clutch to not fully disengage and slip.
