Off topic but whats happening with your engine..? Are you getting another TOMEI Engine built..?

no not having my Tomei engine rebuilt due to the
crank being skoda, the head studs i ordered fitted to engine
now do not exist according to Tomei. Tomei refusing to give me any
info on head polishing/porting and the fact part of shims lurking in my
cylinder head  .

should of been getting my money back of abbey on the 9th of Jan
but they r saying they will not refund the money for the cultch which came
bolted to the engine, which is why i am trying to sell it at the minute.

when i finally get my money back will have to get new block and head built, still pondering over bottom end, either light weight steel crank and rods or titanium, getting conflicting opinions/views about titanium cranks
from so called experts though :?

The old Nismo catalog lists the following part numbers for differentials for the R
38420-RS426 フロント (FRONT)
38420-RS232 センター (center)
38420-RS420 リアデフ(REAR)
and
38760-RS420 Center special
38760-RS421 Center special
hi "covert" - very interesting!

you 100% sure on those numbers?
can you post some pics of the catalogue you have please?
and are you able to read/translate japanese? :)

the Nismo "Pulsar GTI-R Rally Option Parts List" that I have shows:

39711-64E06 = JOINT-RR DRIVE SHAFT INR
38420-RR426 = DIFF ASSY-LIMITED SLIP, FR
38420-RR420 = DIFF ASSY-LIMITED SLIP, RR
38760-RR420 = CENTER DIFF VISCOUS TYPE
38760-RR421 = CENTER DIFF VISCOUS TYPE

BUT, in this pic from the japanese yahoo auctions i found a few years ago (was listed for GTI-R) you can JUST make out "RS420" (bottom right)
http://www.gtiroz.net/gallery/diffs/R_nismo_lsds

hmmm... maybe email those US guys and ask if they can provide some dimensions and/or some detailed pictures?

cheers,
shalom

ftr: the front (torsenII) diffs we had custom made in oz were not organised by me (although i have one),
and another member is currently looking into trying to get a new batch manufactured...

Shalom

I am sure about the numbers but I will check again and snap some photos. I can read and write some Japanese and my freinds help with the rest. I am thinking that what nismo refers to as the front diff is functionaly the center diff (part #38420-RS426) as this diff is also refrenced for FF vehicles. Any ideas? I am also consideing buying one of to US ones and comparing it but I need to make sence of the front/center part number before I lay down some yen.

:D I would love to get in on a group buy for a front diff.

The rear diffs are not too hard to find and yes cusco makes them still but the fronts and centers are out of production.
