Cam/Rocker Shim Clearance?

Help....Re 1994 Pulsar anybody suggest any tricks, tools or methods to ensure accurate shim measurement for the cam rocker/valve stem. Replaced the cam shafts and after measurung (with great difficulty)replaced the valve/rocker shims to what I thought were the correct clearances. On start up the engine sounds more tapperty than I would like. Had great difficulty in measuring the gaps accurately. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated..cheers

Where did you get the clearances from; the manual? I think it's between 0.14 and 0.17mm

You can leave the cams in to shim the engine...

Use a feeler gauge to measure between the cam and rocker arm and try and keep the clearence as even as possible.
