Power steering belt should have have a maximum of 6-7mm deflection (3.5-4.5 when new, 4-5 after adjustment) at a point halfway between the p/s pulley and the water pump pulley when applying a force of 22lbs to the belt

Alternator belt should have a maximum deflection of 11.5-13mm (6.5-8 when new, 7-9 when adjusted) at a point half way between the (top of the)crank pulley and the (top of the )alternator pulley. These are combined measurements for with/without aircon so stick in the middle and you'll be fine.

Usually if you can get 90 degrees of twist on it between 2 fingers it should be ok, but do it the exact way if you can be arsed
