Competed 3 weeks ago at Castle Hill climb with about 80 odd cars competing where I was amazed that not one could match the 64ft split time of the GTiR. Last Sunday was again at Wiscombe Park where there were 135 cars competing in various classes, ranging from Pilbeams,Goulds,Jedi, and everything from Mini to Porsche, to evo and scoobys, but not one could match my time off the line.
Lightweight GTiR on 15" slicks, 450 bhp on 1.9bar seems to be unbeatable. Out again this weekend, will let you know how it goes next week. cheers, den.

was talking to one of your colleagues the other day den, a guy called steve who ran out of track on a sprint day over your neck of woods somewhere!
he ripped his subframe apart and was debating buying another R to replace it but think i talked him out of it lol.

we were discussing the cars and how much it costs to make them competetive and reliable haha, and your car cropped up as well as mine and after i told him i have ploughed more than 20k into my car and think you told him around the same figure i guess he had a change of heart!

but yes theres not much out there to beat a well setup R which is well driven, and no electronic crap like most cars just the driver and crude raw power, cant beat that8)

keep up the winning ways, well done den:thumbsup:

Impressive ... but how does the car fair on the important parts of the hill?
2nd in class on the saturday and 1st on the sunday at wiscombe last weekend so i'd say it fairs pretty well ;-)

Den, the car looked very quick off the line when i saw you on saturday 8)

Tim. Now that I am in the fully mod class I come up against all the quick and light cars, from 2600cc up to 8000cc Vipers, all fully modified and running on slicks. However at Castle Hill 3 weeks ago the class record stood at 28.08 sec. I managed to lower this to 26.62 sec. On sunday last I managed to beat the same car with my best time ever at 44.62sec to win. Certainly the slicks has cut out all wheelspin off the start. I think the car is fairing quite well. cheers den.

Sorry that should have been 43.62sec

I was up there on that Sunday, the yellow or the Black one? Both looked pretty quick, i have a photo of both of them coming down the hillclimb to the pits,
Was hoping to bump into one of the drivers for some advice :-D

Competed in the Chivenor Sprint yesterday. This is two miles long made up with a measured quarter mile straight leading into the man made sprint using cones on three runways with a lot of chicanes to try to keep the speeds down. Got beaten into second by hot Subaru, but no one got near me on the quarter where I managed 11.6 with terminal speed of 123mph, running on 888 tyres. Could have done better on slicks as I get wheel spin off line with 888s. Ferrari scuderia only managed 112. cheers den.

My slicks are Avon A15s hillclimb. Toyo 888s are SG compound. I don,t think the slicks would last very long on the track. cheers den.

Wow.. that is to show the force you are off the line. :) Invest in an Onboard camera please.

I read somewhere that for the best launch you should have around 10% of wheelspin. No wheel spin will probably blow your gearbox in bits.

What gearbox are you running ?

My gearbox is the one that came out of my RB nismo car. It is fitted with Quaife gears. It has had about five years of launching on hillclimbs with no problems. I use a lot of revs and more or less dump the clutch. I have not seen it beaten to 64ft anywhere this year by any car. cheers den.
