Installing Remote central locking to my Nissan Sunny 1995

i want to install a Remote central locking,asking a garage to do it and then saying its going to cost £150+ i thought i might just have ago!

i mean how difficult can`t it be just splicing a few wires together?
I think i`ve got the basics right-

1.need to install Locking Door Motor (Solenoid/actuator) easy! just finding the best place for it to be mounted!

2.this is the bit im finding hard, 12v constant power source? where can i find this please, reading forums alot of people say use the cig lighter ? with ground wire bolted or screwed into metal

3.i wanted the indicators to flash when you press the button for the remote!
i wanted to take the wires to the steering column for the left and right indicators
what colours would these wires be to splice into? and is there a 12v power source from this steering column? which might make it easyer?

i think that`s all i need to do, its cant be that difficult can it?

Have you got a car alarm? If not you might as well go for a full alarm system (flashing lights and central locking included)?

This would be my advice also; it's just a pulse that triggers the solenoids to move, but all the rest of the hardware required comes with the alarm.

I was looking in my doors and realised that there are actually two solenoids; one is the Nissan unit as part of the lock (which is how the doors lock when the car moves off), and the other is an after-market thing screwed into the steel. - I keep meaning to see if I could get the alarm to use the motor in the lock and maybe that wouldn't stick quite as much.

Hi , thanks for your ideas but is the there a idiot's guide to wiring this up , there is no alarm fitted just central locking , but for a old car its still got electric windows and sunroof ,60,000 on the clock got it when it had 42,000 , never let me down love this car he he anyway thanks for any help
