Need some help guys reverse gear not working

I just bought a GTir today. I have owned a few in the past.

The car has a fault it does not go into reverse, any ideas guys ? Thanks in advance

Agreed, as I had the same!

Box out repair job if that's the case!

I read somewhere on the Internet to bleed the gearbox .? Not quite sure is it worth doing this ? Where should I start guys what should I check first thanks for the replies

What car was that referring to? Ours doesn't need bleeding. I assume that would refer to an automatic box?

No need to bleed the gearbox, the clutch may need doing...which is easy as the bleed nipple is on the slave cylinder....the clutch is the peddle quite low to the floor when it starts to bite? And can you get 5th gear?

The bite is average, yes there is 5th gear
