Hi all, I am currently building a short block and putting a 2.3L crower stroker kit in it. Just seeing who else has done this and what do they think? What kit did you use?

To be honest, unless you can get it for a decent price, a 2.0 litre block will give you 550bhp with a gtx3076r so you can probably save yourself some money

Im getting it for 3600 nzd which is very cheap. I brought a engine on the side to build but stripped it down and crank is stuffed. Do you think I can find a good crank in new Zealand anywhere so I was going to go down the track of this stroker. Do you think its worth it or should I invest my money elsewhere in the car?

Not sure tbh, better people on here to answer but personally I'd save your money as the 2 litre works great and I'd invest in a decent engine management system :)

What bore does it use? If it's too high to start with it might leave no room for an overbore if ever needed.

Im already running a link G4 and most other aspects of the engine is already upgraded. Its a 1mm over size. The thing is if I was going to buy the pistons I want plus the rods Im looking at 1500 alone. Then I got to find a good crank and get the fixed up. I think the costs are going to be very close. But just seeing what you guys think? O and anothef question do you think I will need to sleeve the block?

You will have to fit pistons to suit the stroker crank as well as the wrist pin height is differant, if you want lower rev grunt then go for it, as for liners that depends on bore size you want.

Have you also measured the crank to get it ground...you can get bearings in upto .5mm undersize and you wont weaken the crank.

The stroker comes in a kit with rods, pistons and crankshaft all to suit. I believe its a 91mm stroke and factory is 87mm I think. The crank is totally stuffed I looked into that. If there is any1 in new Zealand that has a crank let me know ill be happy to buy it thanks.
