Hello all, I am new to the site, so bare with me...
I've been offered a Nissan Pulsar for around £500, it belongs to one of my friends dad's, and it needs to be gone off his driveway, there is however a sad little story behind it which will justify why it's only £500.
about 3 years ago, the father of a friend of mine bought a Nissan Pulsar straight from the importers, with around 50,000 miles on the clock... He loved it! Loved it for about 6 months, and then he decided to get some tuning done... Now I'm not sure what exactly it was he was getting done, but it's probably irrelevant to this story anyway, all new pistons and rods, and a new racing clutch fitted, and some other things...
Anyway, so the car is in the garage having it's work done, the mechanic removed the engine and stripped the whole thing down, and then unfortunately the garage went bankrupt! gave my friends dad his car back on a trailer, with the engine in pieces in many big boxes! That's all done now and the family are over it, but the car 2 and a bit years later, is still sat on the driveway, slowly getting trashed by the weather and people passing it. The engine remains in pieces in his garage...
My question is, for £500 should i buy it and attempt to rebuild it myself? would it be worth it in the end?
Is there a guide on the forums, or on the web at all on rebuilding the SR20 engine?
Or maybe better yet, does anyone know of anyone (in the UK) who could rebuild the SR20 engine with their eyes shut?

F.Y.I I am quite a hands on, patient guy, who has done average mechanic work. (I am not a mechanic)
