Getting my old GTi-R going again.... (specialists london area)

My Gti-R has been chronically laid up in the garage for YEARS, with nothing but a quick start, and drive around the carpark a couple of times a year. I think its time to get it up and running properly...

Anyone know anyone decent in the london area worth using, or should I just have it towed to southend to Gti-R-US?

It has definitely been too long!

Glad to hear there's agreement all round!

assuming there's no nasty surprises, are there any simple changes/mods/updates that people think a stock Gti-R would benefit from? Bearing in mind that I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or not yet, so not going crazy with it...!

How stock is it? - If it's genuinely stock, it's probably worth more money that way than if you start changing and modifying bits.

New fuel pump is probably not a bad idea; even if you don't plan on doing much else the original one could be quite tired by now.

What are the brakes like? - Replace the fluid and pads (maybe the discs too) if it hasn't been done since it was parked-up; I wouldn't go upgrading them unless you're definitely keeping it and want to chase more power.

I wouldn't go changing the exhaust at this stage, but that would free the turbo to perform better.

Where in North London are you?
Some people go to Bob Gtir us, Southend, some people go Ed Fusion, Surrey, some people go to Olly Owen Garages, Hayward Heath, some people go other places. Don't restrict yourself mate.
You can also go to Perfect Touch in Ware, up the A10. I am based in a North London,

I'm in central, so I think Fusion isn't a bad option, from my its straight along the A40.

Car is standard apart from a quick shift gearbox. Actually, was thinking of xenon conversion, I remember the headlights being terrible!

Speak to ed as you can use relays and 55/100w bulbs that give a far better light than hid, hid is not designed to go in standard headlights and is actually illegal as the car is not fitted with self leveling systems and light washers and they also give a poor spread of light due to there design.

As above; I've got "improved" standard bulbs with new earth wiring (the old stuff melted the bulb socket) and that's much better than how it was when I bought it.

At one point I was thinking about spotlights, but not anymore.
